Orthopaedic Associates of Wausau & Wausau Surgery Center – New Clinic & Ambulatory Surgery Center

Orthopaedic Associates of Wausau (OAW) and Wausau Surgery Center (WSC) chose Ellis to be their design-build contractor of the new combined 61,605 square-foot clinic and ambulatory surgery center. The building is combined but built as two separate businesses and are separated by a 2-hour firewall, each having their own HVAC, electrical, water and other support systems.

The 37,595 square-foot clinic includes seven exam rooms, three x-ray rooms, MRI suite, office space and work rooms for all staff, a physical therapy/gym facility, large waiting room, break room and conference rooms. Large windows and glulam beams in certain areas of the clinic create a welcoming and calming environment for all.

The 24,010 square-foot surgery center consists of five operation rooms, six pre-op and five post-op rooms, four private recovery rooms, nurse stations, large waiting rooms, lockers rooms for staff, office space, conference room and lounge. There are also multiple rooms to handle items such as med gas, vacuums/pumps, and water sterilization equipment. Tall ceilings and large windows allows for an abundant of natural light in this area as well.
