Stevens Point Country Club Renovation, Pool and New Construction
Stevens Point, WI
Delivery Method: Design-Build
Architect: Ellis Construction
The Stevens Point Country Club once again called upon Ellis Construction to provide design-build services for several interrelated projects. Previously, Ellis Construction broke ground on the very first clubhouse in 1953 and then again on the existing clubhouse in 1967.
The first component of the 2017 project consisted of a 20,000 square-foot renovation of the main clubhouse with relocated stairwells, a modified floor plan, restroom relocation as well as significant finish upgrades along with a reconstructed entrance way. Keeping an elegant yet welcoming feel was a high priority for the SPCC team. Movement of the bar area to amplify the vistas to the west also became a driving force of the transformation. Ellis led the way with an interior design and layout that would allow for a new dynamic multiuse space with dividers and new rooms, to allow for several events (up to three 75-100 person events) to happen simultaneously.
The pool project consisted of a brand new pool house at 2,000 square-feet which included changing rooms with showers, concession area along with a brand new pool and child recreation area. The focus of the SPCC team was to prioritize this space to promote younger member development. A mixed-use court system and play area was also planned adjacent to the pool area.
