Holy Spirit Parish Addition and Renovation

Stevens Point, WI

Delivery Method: Design-Build

Architect: Ellis Construction

Construction at Holy Spirit Parish started in May of 2019 and was completed by February of 2020. The project was 29,866 square-feet that entailed a new building addition, remodeling of the existing Sanctuary, and replacing mechanical systems in the existing church building. Careful scheduling was needed to ensure the boilers and heating system for both buildings would be operational before cold weather set in.

The Holy Spirit Parish is a combination of a few parishes, one of which was the Newman Center on the UWSP campus. The Center had a large, custom-made stained glass cross called ‘Tree of Life’ in the Chapel area that was cherished and needed to be moved to the new church addition.

With the help of Ellis, the main mission for Holy Spirit Parish was accomplished by providing an active ministry presence for students in the area coming from UW-Stevens Point and Mid-State Technical College.
