Central Wisconsin Airport, East Terminal Addition
Mosinee, WI
Delivery Method: General Contractor
Architect: Mead & Hunt, Inc.
This 23,800 square foot addition to the Central Wisconsin Airport created the East Terminal. The new area includes an enlarged baggage claim area and mezzanine to house administrative offices with higher ceilings, clerestory windows and the use of glass throughout the terminal to allow a brighter and more modern look.
The airport continued full operations during the 10-month construction process. Ellis worked closely with airport personnel to schedule work for the most appropriate times. It was imperative that construction would not hinder the high volume of travelers making their way to the gates, flight arrivals or departures while providing pedestrian access and meeting all airport security measures.
The new addition is an open and welcoming concept for this centralized regional airport. With the increasing number of departing passengers daily, it was important to expand and provide the best atmosphere possible.
