Stevens Point Well No. 11
Stevens Point, WI
Delivery Method: General Contractor
Engineer/Architect: Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc.
Ellis Construction built a new 12,900 square foot concrete and masonry building to house a water treatment plant, utilizing several systems including gravity filtration, plate settler, and UV disinfection. This treatment plant is fed by an over 110 foot deep by 20 foot in diameter massive collector well. The plant has standby generators with sufficient capacity to power the entire water supply and treatment facilities in the event of an emergency at a total of 1.6 Megawatts.
Extensive mechanical systems and state of the art controls also plays a large role in this project and were paramount to success.
Stevens Point Well No. 11, when completed, was the largest capacity municipal groundwater supply project ever in the State of Wisconsin (capable of producing over 13,000,00 gallons of water per day or 9,000 gallons per minute).
