Plover Whiting Youth Athletics breaks ground on McCain Foods Hall of Fame Pavilion
STEVENS POINT, Wis. (July 31, 2024) — Ellis Construction, a highly-regarded full-service construction company based out of Stevens Point, is excited to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for the Plover Whiting Youth Athletics (PWYA) McCain Foods Hall of Fame Pavilion at 2381 Cedar Drive in Woyak Park, Plover, WI 54467 (map) on Aug. 5 at noon. This event was originally scheduled for Aug. 1, 2024, at noon but was postponed due to inclement weather.
The pavilion will feature an upper deck that provides views to two fields, provides shelter from rain, sun and severe weather and is fully Americans with Disabilities Act(ADA)-compliant, ensuring accessibility for all community members and an enhanced PWYA experience for hundreds of participants and their families each year.
“PWYA has directly impacted the childhoods of many of our team members, including myself,” said Andrew Halverson, executive vice president at Ellis Construction. “We are honored to be a part of this organization that empowers our youth, and has contributed to a stronger, more vibrant community in the past,present, and will continue to for generations to come.”

The groundbreaking will be led by representatives from major donors including McCain Foods, Food and Farm Exploration, Village of Plover, Auto Select Stevens Point, Grabski Foundation, Stuczynski Trucking and Excavating, project designer and builder Ellis Construction and members from the PWYA board and fundraising committee. The construction is expected to be completed in 2024.
